Our factory
Shenzhen Pans Technology Co., Ltd. covers an area of more than 3500 square meters, with 30 sets of 3/4/5 Axis CNC machines, 15 sets of CNC milling machines, 12 sets of Swiss high-speed precision CNC lathes, 5 sets of wire EDM machines and so on. We are a combined team of talented and experienced engineers, machinists and technical consultants dedicated to helping solve problems related to the manufacture of precision and complex mechanical parts, including design, product cost, quality, assembly issues and more.
How Wire EDM works
Wire feeding: A thin metal wire (usually 0.03-0.3mm diameter brass or molybdenum wire) moves continuously in the working area.
Pulse discharge: A small gap (usually 0.005-0.05mm) is formed between the electrode wire and the workpiece, and a high-frequency pulse voltage is applied in the dielectric (usually deionized water or oil) to produce spark discharge.
Material removal: The high temperature (6000-12000°C) generated by the discharge causes local melting or vaporization of the workpiece, and then the dielectric cools and carries away the molten metal particles.
Automatic control of cutting path: The CNC (computer numerical control) system controls the movement of the electrode wire to achieve cutting of complex shapes.
Advantages of Wire EDM
High precision: cutting accuracy can reach ±0.002mm, suitable for precision machining.
No cutting force: suitable for machining easily deformed or hard and brittle materials, such as hardened steel, ceramics, and cemented carbide.
Complicated shapes can be machined: high-precision cutting of internal and external contours, small holes, narrow slits, etc. can be performed.
Good surface quality: surface roughness can reach Ra 0.2-0.8µm, reducing the need for subsequent processing.
Applicable to high-hardness materials: can process high-hardness materials that are difficult to handle with traditional mechanical cutting, such as cemented carbide, titanium alloy, etc.
