Aluminum die-casting is a metal forming process that uses high pressure to inject molten aluminum alloy into a precision steel mold, which then cools and solidifies to form aluminum parts of a specific shape. This technology combines high precision, high efficiency, and excellent surface quality, and is widely used in industries such as automotive, electronics, communications, machinery, and aerospace. It is one of the most important metal forming methods in modern manufacturing.
The alloys used in aluminum die casting are mainly aluminum-silicon based alloys, possessing excellent fluidity and resistance to hot cracking. Common grades include:
1.ADC12 / A380: The most commonly used aluminum die casting alloy, with good fluidity, high strength, and excellent casting performance.
2.A360 / AlSi9Mg: Possesses good ductility and corrosion resistance, suitable for thin-walled parts.
3.A356 / AlSi7Mg: Heat-treatable, with excellent mechanical properties, suitable for high-strength structural parts.
4.AlSi10Mg / AlSi12: Excellent fluidity, suitable for parts with complex shapes and high airtightness requirements.
Aluminum die casting process

1.Alloy Melting: Aluminum ingots and recycled materials are added to a furnace in a specific ratio and heated to melt, while impurities and gases are removed.
2.Mold Preparation: Before die casting, the mold must be sprayed with a release agent and preheated to 150-250℃ to prevent molten metal from sticking to the mold or causing poor filling.
3.Injection Filling: Molten aluminum is injected into the mold cavity through an injection system to form the casting.
4.Cooling and Mold Opening: After the metal cools and solidifies in the mold, the mold is opened, and the casting is ejected.
5.Deburring and Post-processing: After the casting is removed, burrs and flash are removed. If necessary, surface treatments such as machining, sandblasting, anodizing, electroplating, or painting can be performed.
6.Inspection and Assembly: The finished product undergoes dimensional, appearance, and performance inspections. Only qualified products are used for subsequent assembly.
