Nylon (PA) Materials: PA6, PA66, and Reinforced Nylon
Nylon (PA) Materials: PA6, PA66, and Reinforced Nylon
PA, polyamide, commonly known as nylon, is a high-performance engineering plastic. It possesses excellent mechanical properties, outstanding corrosion resistance, oil resistance, heat resistance, and high modulus, among other advantages.

Basic Characteristics of PA
1.High strength and durability, good toughness, not brittle, and impact resistant.
2.Excellent wear resistance and good self-lubricating properties.
3.Superior thermal stability.
4.Good chemical resistance.
5.Good insulation properties.
6.Lightweight.
7.Hygroscopicity: Nylon absorbs moisture from the air, affecting its performance.
8.Advantages: Increased toughness and impact resistance after water absorption.
9.Disadvantages: May affect the tolerances of precision parts.
Types of Nylon
PA6
1.Excellent wear resistance and self-lubricating properties: Due to its low coefficient of friction, PA6 has excellent self-lubricating properties.
2.High mechanical strength: Large intermolecular forces result in high mechanical strength and elastic modulus.
3.Excellent chemical resistance: Nylon 6 has good chemical stability, especially good oil resistance.
4.Good heat resistance and electrical insulation: Nylon 6 has high resistivity and excellent heat resistance.
PA66
1.Maintains high strength, toughness, creep resistance, and low friction over a wide temperature range; (more heat resistant than PA6)
2.High tensile strength, excellent wear resistance, and low friction noise;
3.Strong resistance to hydrocarbon solvents, especially gasoline and lubricating oil.
Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon
1.Significantly improved strength and rigidity; tensile strength and flexural strength are significantly higher than ordinary nylon. Rigidity is close to or can even replace aluminum alloy.
2.Smaller dimensional changes after water absorption, significantly better dimensional stability. Suitable for structural parts requiring high dimensional stability.
3.Strong heat resistance, more suitable for higher operating temperatures than ordinary PA6/PA66.
4.Better fatigue resistance and creep performance.
5.Reduced self-lubricating properties.
6.Poorer surface roughness.
7.Higher tool wear.
