Die Casting Process02

Mold Preparation: The process begins with the design and creation of a steel mold, which consists of fixed and movable halves that are critical in determining the final shape and characteristics of the casting.
Melting and Injection: Selected metals (such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium or copper) are melted in a furnace and injected into the mold cavity at high pressure (1,500 to 25,000 psi) to ensure complex details are filled.
Cooling and Solidification: The filled mold allows the molten metal to cool and solidify, with the cooling time depending on the thickness and complexity of the part, usually facilitated by an integrated water or air cooling system.
Ejection and finishing: After solidification, the mold halves are separated and the casting is ejected. Additional finishing processes such as trimming, debarring and machining are performed to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
